Whewww… Tuesday was a DAY. To sum it up, I was crying with a strained back and a flat tire by 6:30am this morning. A little What I Ate Wednesday to soothe the soul anyone? K cool me too.
So let me break this down for you. I woke up a little sore and stiff but thought this banana would get me right on my way to the gym.
I was wrong. I struggled through my leg workout with shooting pain in my back and hamstring. When I finally left, I was so frazzled and stressed, I wasn’t thinking when parking my car. Aaaand hit the curb and blew my tire. My third one since February. Because apparently I can’t drive and have a $200 a month car budget. Oye.
After a good cry in my lover’s arms, I decided to work from home for a few hours while icing my back. I had a mega green smoothie and a fat cup of coffee to recharge. I forgot to snap a pic of my smoothie before I slurped it down [sorry, I was kind of preoccupied] so here are the ingredients.
See that ice cube tray full of dark green sludge? I’ve tried a new approach to blending greens into my morning smoothies. Because my blender is [for lack of a better word] crappy, I sometimes have a gritty, leafy smoothie. So I’ve started blending my greens in the bullet attachment and freezing them into cubes for smoother sips. I love it! What tips do you have for getting ultra creamy smoothies?
My wonderful coworker gave me a date-walnut brownie bite and let me vent about ridiculous tire prices and hating everything. Love that lady.
For lunch, I packed a salad with the leftovers of some recipe testing I did this weekend- quinoa and Moroccan spiced chickpeas. Sooo yummy, get excited for that recipe!
An apple a day keeps the pre-yoga munchies at bay.
Dinner was enchiladas I photographed this weekend, also soon to be on the blog!
What would a crappy day be without a little chocolaty sweet treat to cap it off? I bought this Wink “frozen dessert” Monday because I’ve heard good things and it’s free of basically everything. Unfortunately, including flavor and creamy texture. It’s waaayy not ice cream. It is, however, faintly chocolaty and frozen. A frozen banana and some chocolate protein turned it into a Frostie-like dessert that was totally tolerable and at least grazed the sweet tooth spot.
That’ll do. Time to put this crummy day to rest and finish the week strong. Have a great one loves!
aww what a rough morning! sadly, i’ve been having some crazy hip pane that is starting to shoot down my leg too, but no car problems! i hope its all fixed and your week gets better! 😀 (if you have enchilada leftovers, i’m sure it will be 😀 )
Oh gurrrl you KNOW those enchiladas made it better 😉 thanks a bunch lady!
Ahhh, so sorry to hear about the rough morning, gf! Hope the rest of the week is being kind to you!!!
Question, where do you yoga? I know we are both German Villagers and I would love to check out some studios closer to my house! LOL
Thanks, girl! I’m actually super lucky because one of my coworkers is also a yoga instructor and does a free class at my office every Tuesday. I’ve also done classes at Fitness Loft where I work out but I’ve also been looking for a studio that isn’t crazy expensive. Keep me posted on your search!
